Our Flagship Project – Barunggam Solar Farm {Construction Due To Commence November 2020}

Barunggam Solar Farm is a 125MW AC solar farm (large enough to supply more than 34,000 households) on a 215 Hectare property at Baking Board only 14km from Chinchilla. The project comprises of approximately 400,000 solar panels, Sungrow containerised inverters and a combination of innovative ground mount structures to support the solar panels. Grid connection is via 2 x 132KV lines to an onsite substation.

Power produced from the solar farm will be distributed through the NEM to create Australia’s largest interactive battery microgrid and Virtual Power Plant (VPP).

The power generated by the solar farm will be supplied to households via a new company, Virtual Solar Energy Pty Ltd.

Electricity will then be delivered to customers where it will be used to power the homes or businesses and will also be stored in intelligent solar power batteries located at the customer’s premises via a sophisticated Microgrid
system.
